A parting shot of the International Space Station seen from Space Shuttle Discovery as the two spacecraft orbited in formation before Discovery broke away for its safe return to Florida today. Congratulations to the STS-120 and Expedition 16 crews on their successful and eventful mission.

I just watched the Discovery land live on TV and watched the astronauts disembark. That is always and emotional moment for me when the spacecraft touches down safely. I wonder what went through the mind of the astronaut that stayed on board the ISS?
Just a thought as I viewed this amazing image that you worked on for me to enjoy. Many thanks my friend ;=)

Always find the pictures from NASA to be spectacular, there lenses and the lack of atmosphere add such clarity to the shot. Nice ....next time take me with you, i have a few camera angles i'd like to try LOL.

These photos of our world from space always make me feel so humble...and grateful that people still have the inspiration and courage to go there. Thank you for these breath taking moments.

The space station looks like a insect almost floating around in the sky.
