Found this flower on a walk the other day. The bees were all over it, but they wouldn't let me get close. Dang. The pretty flower will have to do.

In my experiences with bees, they're rarely aggressive. If they approach, it's usually out of curiosity, not malice. That behavior can change when they're swarming or if you're near a hive, but in general, they're harmless.
That empathy goes out the window when dealing with wasps and hornets though. I find them fascinating, but very intimidating. I'll get a burst of courage on some occasions, but generally steer away from things that like to sting.
