this has some of the most intruiging compositional lines ive seen in a long while
starting with the bottom right corner youve three great arcs of space defined each on a radius with the dab of flowers finishing it off. which is a very interesting way to devide up the pic
youve got several textures not least of which is the dry grain of the wood vs the near wetness and certain dampness of the leaves then powdery appearance of the purple petals, colours nicely saturated
the dragon fly is almost indicental! ;) but adds that hot spot of detail and interest
its a difficult shot to compose cos there might have been more conflict for attention for the viewer's eyes but youve done nicely to reduce that and utilise what youve got there though a sharper fall off in focus might have helped the dragonfly to stand out more
This dragon fly is just georgous, I love it's color. I wish it was in my back yard. I do have dragon flies but mine seem to all be red. So to see this great color is so refreshing.
I think the first thing I noticed is the gorgeous green on the dragonfly brought out totally by the leaves, then the lovely stripes on the fly itself...and the texture of the wood of course is grand! And a tiny thin at the bottom right of the photo..there is a "line" I imagine it is of a stem of grass...but it brings the line of the dragonfly out even more! Its a most glamorous and lovely photo!! Bravo on this!!..verena
I think I could wander around this sight for 5 years and never find a composition like that. Others above me have more than summed up this unique and I mean unique photo.
Bravo for coming up wth one that will never be copied in any shapre, form or fashion.
