With Photoshop:
First, select the sky and the background (mountains of the background) - tools = rectangular marquee tool + magic wand tool. Correct the color and the contrast with ' picture] adjust]... '
Second, reverse the selection and make the same thing with the foreground.
Try!
There are some equivalent tools on other programs like PaintShopPro, available on the web
(this won't make any sense to anyone who didn't see the original)
I have to say I sorta preferred the sky of the original. The ground and mountain do now look much better, though. The pinkish hue in the sky may not look normal, but it certainly does happen. As a matter of fact, when the sky is reddish, I try to get pictures of it. With the colr edit, the clouds look yellow and almost smoggy.
I actually agree with xentrik... im sure ppigeon, caedes, and ecologito are probably thinking, "why the heck didn't these guys say anything *before* we changed it" but I think the modified version makes it look smoggy.
I think the rationale was that the pink clouds were caused by his initial use of auto-contrast, so it was ok to take the reds back to normal levels. I think I prefer yellow smog-clouds to red fallout-clouds anyday. =p
I tried to find the ambiance of colors that I knew in Peru. But colors of Mexico are certainly not the same.
With no expensive cameras, there is not balance of white. Therefore, when you take a photo in the morning or in the evening, you have a deviation of the color balance.
I wanna explain to Ecologito that he can himself correct a photo and to show him the technique to recover the true colors.
It is not art, but technique
Maybe I should have said it differently. Everything else looks fantastic, I just found the clouds to be a little too yellowish. It could very well have something to do with my monitor, which is set at 6550K instead of the 9300K most people use. It's much less noticable at the brighter setting, which may be why I picked up on it. On the other hand, I was a little surprised to see people react negatively to the color of the sky of the original, so I guess there's just an artisitc difference-of-opinion going on too. :-D
But of course, a Nice Work to ecologito and ppigeon.
If this helps I took the picture with a sony DSCP5 3 megapixels and 6X zoom. I usually have it on the default and auto settings. Thanks a lot to everybody for the comments and oppinions, all are very valuable for me, I am newbie on taking pictures and photo editing so I apreciate all your comments.
With the photo taken by you,
the scenery and the landscape make one feel like driving a 4WD
exploring the place,
the angle and the right spot makes it so outstanding
thanks
