Your description is right on.... there is a very nice harmony of shapes and colors in this photo. The only thing I can think of that would make it better would be a bluer sky to contrast the colors better. Excellent work... =)
(whistling) WOW! that so perfect it almost looks rendered! (What are all these camera filters you guys are talking about? Are there just like various "filters" you can buy to put on your camera that do different stuff?)
Hi Tony. Thanks for your comment!
On the reflex cameras, you can put filters. The most known is ultraviolet, who can reduce the ultraviolet rays to preserve colors. You must have this filter where it's sunny.
A less known is the polarizing filter, that permits to reinforce and to darken the blue colors of the sky. It permits to put the topic in value. It's expensive (± 50/70 $) but efficient
On the cheap numeric cameras, it's impossible to put these filters. But you can correct pictures with Photoshop before printing.
HAHAHA! that's pretty funny, cuz i can't put a zoom lens on my camera, so somtimes i put binoculars in front of the lens, you wouldn't believe it works too!
The colours are so deep and rich. I love that chocolate present in the sand against the sky.
The forms and shapes of the dunes ... well, wow again, as this compositionally and colour palette wise does it all for me. Nice clarity and detail. The play of the shadows ... really nice. Really really nice.
Truly a beautiful image. Thank you so much for sharing this and allowing me to use this. It will be in a special rotation of images for my desktop.
This picture strikes a special thought in my mind, its like the default windows XP background without the grass and green. This is a great irony as a desktop and also a very cool photo.
This is beautiful and it is something I have never experienced personally. I love that you put the Google Earth download link so I can see where on earth it is. Thank you. Now that I see how very remote it is, I am wondering how you got there and how uncomfortable was that? You must have some great verbal stories to tell along with your lovely pictures!
Thanks Rho for this very nice comment :-)
'Uncomfortable' is not the right word. My wife and I are lucky enough to be in good health and to like walking, trekking, snowshoeing and hiking. So, we can find these journeys with two organisations:
1) For one day walkings, little treks and snowshoes: Compagnie Ardennaise de Randonnée 2) For far countries: Terres d’Aventure Sorry, no english translations...
When we leave with them, we are sure to take beautiful photos...
Thanks again :-)
