Great portrait Pierre. The sepia tones works really good here. I'm not so good at shooting people. I guess in every other sense that is a good thing... o_O But anyhow, what is the trick to do good portraits in your opinion? I've seeen many great ones by you from all the corners of the world. Please tell me your secret. ;-) (And don't tell me it's just because you're such a nice guy that people smile back so nice to you. ^_^ That would leave me in a terrible position being a terrible portrait photographer as I am...)
My 3 rules for a good portrait:
1) to be transparent (so that the subject doesn't see you)
2) if not possible, take the photo when the subject doesn't expect it
3) to have a side light, sometimes corrected with a good flash
Actually, 35 mm film is better than numeric for the softness...
Thanks for this nice comment, Klas!
Thanks Pierre for sharing this with me. I appreciate your advice very much! :) I'll have to start training someday. :) I can't go around an suck bigtime at doing portraits all my life. :)
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more

They do look so happy, and I think that the love of a child is always more genuine than that of adults. They really look happy to be together. Good shot. I like that you used a childs love rather than romance. Good work.
I like constructive criticism. So dont be offended by me... I mostly I am honest so that you are honest with me as well. I want to know how I can improve.
