"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." Bertrand Russell
I looked at this for a while to understand the eerie stillness it captures. As I did so I realised that, with a bit of imagination, the mast apears to be "holding up" the last ligering light areas of sky...like it doesn't want the darkness to arrive.
Excellent atmosphere! Kudos.
Wonderful shot. I hovered between 9 and 10 until I realised that I was only comparing it with some of your other photo's which are 11's. This is "only" a perfect 10. :)
"What other reason could there be to get up in the morning except to set ourselves free."
If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
Chris: no green effect. I just made a little correction of brightness/contrast. The color is totally natural.
Thanks to all for these kind comments :-)
What 'a sight for sore eyes'...nothing could be more peaceful or serene...just one thing...I saw the movie by the same name...there won't be some guy who just won't stay dead suddenly plunging out of the water, will there?..: Pat.
nothing to complain about, everything to praise, this is perfect, i wouldn't have done anything different... except probably mess it up. direct to my favs and desktop. thanks pierre!
The angle of taking is perfect !
with the light brighter coming from the left side and the reflection on the boat
makes this photo so beautiful and calm.
pierre, you done it again !
cheers
I'll fight when needed, revel when there's an occasion, mourn when there is grief, and die if my time comes...but I won't let anyone use me against my will.
The water is so still and the boat just sits their untouched... It's not even that pretty but their is just something about it that is very interesting and mezmorizing.
Missed this when you first posted it, sure glad I caught it off the front page! What a fantastic post, not sure I've EVER ween water quite that still before.
