Great shot there. I've been meaning to comment on your recent images. Forgive me for being so tardy! Love the depth in this one, feels as though you could be there.
The beer urges me on, the bewitching beer, which sets even a wise man to singing and to laughing gently and rouses him up to dance and brings forth words which were better unspoken.
Homer, The Odyssey
(note: beer substituted for wine)
love the strong vertical lines of the compo. gives such depth and pressure. more dark and more intimist than the 2, each has it's own atmosphere.can't choose between the two^^!
love it Pierre
id say this beats your other rainforest picture, i like having the colours naturalized a bit more. i think a bit more foreground wouldnt have hurt this image tho, to bump everything 'up' about 1/6th or so would probably make the composition a bit stronger, but its a really great picture, and you probably had a reason for not doing it anyways ;)
hey there, pierre :) i didn't forget to check your wonderful gallery.. but i've been veeeery busy lately... so your image were simply waiting for me in my "to do" list to check them out, heheh :)
i love your rainforest series and this is my favourite.. i would like to comment on all of them, but time flies.. i think it's the dark atmosphere in this one that caught my eye... the lightning is perfect and all those shadows really give a certain fantastic spirit to the image.. is this from a lord of the rings movie? :))
but, i must say.. it looks like it's haunted :) watch out.. you can never tell are you alone or not... :))
i bet it had been a wonderful trip and i hope you had had a great time :) thank you for sharing all your recent images with us, they truly deserve the highest marks they got and will get from this author :)
Not bad, how did you get the fog to appear transparent, I can't do that if my life depended on it, it always comes out looking like white smoke.

Hello Pierre, this is one of my all-time favorite photos. Such great mystery. The colors are wonderful and I love the faint clarity of the more distant trees in the mist.
Also, thank you for the comment on Piering. As I recall, I didn't enhance the saturation in that photo, but the bird had what I refer to as a cool shadow on him, making him appear a little blue. Sometimes even the natural saturation is too much :)
Oh Pierre, do I ever luv this one. It came up automatically when I logged in today. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to download it. I wish you would post more photos. I luv the depth in this photo. I can look waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back into this rainforest. Fantastic presentation.

This looks like it could have been taken in the redwoods of N. Cal. I love how the lighting is just perfect to give it an ethereal quality. This is on my desktop right now! 10! One of my favorites.
This is nice. It must have been a lovely journey though?
