This flower is called muthuga in my native language kannada. I found these three flowers near Ikkeri temple, arranged it on a stone bench and took a snap of it. I didn't use a tripod for this shot (I don't have a tripod!). Photo was taken on 13th Jan. This flower is specially used in worship of Lord Shiva during the festival of Maha Shivarathri (which is on feb 12th this year. Shiva is the main deity worshipped in the Aghoreshwara Temple of Ikkeri. I'm a starting new series with this shot. I'll be giving a tour of Ikkeri temple in the next photos. Hope you all enjoy this post (no post processing done to this photo, except for a small amount of cropping.)

I'm dedicating this photo to Sharon. She had met with an car accident and broken her ankle. Now she is out of hospital and recovering soon, but still on a wheelchair. Lets us all wish her speedy recovery.

The rough ground as a background brings out the beauty and delicacy of this flower very well.

A beautiful vibrant flower. The stone background was perfect for this. Great job.

I like the way you have arranged the flowers, P. It looks to be in the shape of a crown. The color is gorgeous. Very well done.

I love the simplicity of this shot and the wonderful contrast between the rough stone and velvet texture of the flower - very nice work. I look forward to your series.
