This little guy was shot with a Canon 5D and Sigma 105 macro lens. A Canon 550 flash was used

Oh wow. What a capture. Don't think I have ever seen any pictures of this species butterfly. Gorgeous shot. Look at the red in the top of his wing. He looks like a royal warrior. Great job Robert.

How beautiful this butterfly is, and a very good shot as well!
I like this photo much better than your earlier upload because the flash is not reflected by the leaves. Makes it more natural.
High marks! I just wished you could upload the full 12MP for us...

Every mammel on the planet develops a natural balance or a certain equalibrium with the world around them but we humans do not, we move to an area and we multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way we can survive is to spread to another area. There is only one other organism on this planet that follows the same pattern, a virus. Human beings in the intrest of the planet are a desiese a cancer of this eath. (Kinda makes you proud dosen't it)

Fantastic close-up shot-- the colors are magnificient on both the butterfly and the leaf! Every vein and micro detail is captured! I can almost see this beautiful creature eyeballin' me from the pic!
