So that's what an Atlas moth looks like... the pattern makes me think of the kind of indian work that involves totem poles. Decia

Ok .. I am tired of all these great shots you are posting. Not only does it give me a inferiority complex but I am running out of adjectives to describe them.
Post something REALLY bad so I can go wild on it.

A great shot .. as always.

Good heavens have mercy....excuse me while I crawl back into my chair (huffs and puffs back into chair). That photo blew me plum onto the floor when it burst up on my screen. That has got to be the all time best moth/butterfly capture ever. Stunning my friend. Whew!

I have always heard that butterflies and moths sometimes have great deigns on them, but I have never really seen any out of the norm. But this is an eye opener and is really a work of nature at its best. So now i might try and take more notice of the little things in life.

Splendid colouring has this moth, it is that you say it, differently you think indeed that it is a butterfly.
Very good picture.
