Actually, it's a Verdin, a desert bird about half the size of a sparrow. It is not closely related to any other bird in the western hemisphere.

Love the title you came up with Rick, and admire this great capture you've made. Really outstanding. Having viewed several of your other bird photos the quality of this image comes as no surprise. Always a pleasure to see your photography. I'm eagerly waiting for the next posting.
