USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor in Honolulu on Oahu, Hawaii; from the stern of a shuttle launch. Veterans Day in the USA is observed on November 11, regardless of the day of the week. This preserves the historical significance of the date and focuses attention on the purpose of Veterans Day: to honor America's veterans for their willingness to serve, and sacrifice, for the common good. Because no one can 'give' peace, it can only be agreed to (human decency, law, treaty) ... or won.

In the 2 WORLD WARS America was a great help in Europe along with the Russians, British and other free nations but I'm afraid after Korea America has lost it's way, and I'm very upset British troops have recently joined them in combat dirtying their hands too !!

I like your composition and the color is really great. It's too bad the flag was so high (for the sake of the shot) because I think it would've looked nice a little more in the shot. Regardless, well done! :)

Really great composition! I love the memorial with the American Flag on the side. Colors look great as well.

Red on flag definitely draws the attention, but it is a pity that the wind whipped the end too fast for focusing. The bright clouds behind the flag gives it extra emphasis, but the framing of the picture crops the flag. The secondary focus is drawn to the building (?) in the lower left, which the cloud pattern and the wake also draws your eye to as well. I like the fact that the flag is "echoed" on the building (though the wind pointed it in the wrong direction to see it well). The clouds are definitely interesting.

This whole picture is so intense. Everything just seems to stand out so much. I love this picture just as it is.
