This house in New Orleans had so much foliage around it that its plum-colored window frames stood out in refief from all the greens surrounding it. I shot it with my Panasonic Lummox digital.
New Orleans is such a great place to take photos. You captured the...I dont know how to put it...New Orleans always seems so "dark" when I go. I love that place. It seems like it's always keeping secrets. I think you captured that in this photo. Nice job.
very nice capture regmar, love the strange atmosphere here, a bit creepy but not quite... a lighting a little more dramatic would give another, more disturbing, ambiance but it's just a thought. I wish I could see more of the architecture of this house... new orleans old 'colonial' architecture has always been very interesting... well, for me anyway... must be the influence of the writer 'Anne Rice'... love her books^^
anyway, all this to say... good shot!^^
Very good light and composition. A very pleasing image, if a little unsettling - it looks as though the trees are closing in around the house for some reason.... :-)
Regmar,
This is a fantastic image! It is a little spookey but at the same time very peaceful. You have captured that wonderful light that only comes once a day and crosslightsur subject so that it boldly stands ou as if to be proud of itself. That along with the soft green in the shadows makes for a very peaceful image Superb work.

Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art.
It is a solar phenomenon,
where the artist collaborates with the sun.

I get a very strange feeling when I look at this photo. Not sure how to describe it.... the house looks so mysterious in a way, even though it's not a dark picture... anyway, it's a great shot!
it looks almost as if children in period clothing should be peeking out from behind the trees... not exactly cheerful, perhaps, but very nice! The way you took the trees, the way they seem so old... that does it for me :)
I love the feel of this photo. The setting is brooding and old, with the interesting contrast of the purple. Seems a little grainy though, and not as crystal clear as I would like it. Is that because it is digital? Because of the exposure? I know I am behind the times, haven't gone digital yet. It seems that many digital photos have that graininess (sp?) Film just seems to be clearer. Does it have to do with megapixels? (sorry, many questions!)
