During a recent hike in a local nature area the low water level made it easier to walk in the bed of the stream instead of through the forest. While climbing over rocks I spotted this scene of arboreal aesthetic, and managed to capture it.

excellent natural colour palette - could do with been a teeny bit sharper but thats just a minor quibble.

Hey Reg, how sad that the water levels are so low there right now. But...we are experiencing the same thing here. We have only had 2 small rains in 8 weeks.
Anyhow, how cool to see what is normally down under!

This looks so good, and I almost hate to ask, but what is it? I cant quite tell if its a pool of water or what..is it sand? gosh... or am I needing glasses? smile

The lack of water is everywhere.. Not enough to keep the rivers and streams filled.. This is a wonderful photo.. Love the light through the trees..

Hello my friends, and thanks for the responses. You know, I hadn't really realized that the water was low - I just assumed it was the normal level. The photo looks worlds better in black and white, but I know that black and white isn't very popular here on Caedes.

Nice. Really nice.

After having read a few comments on the difficulty of taking shots in low level light conditions, this photo is a standout.

More so, I love the composition. In particular, the capture of the sunlight on that small tree or shrub. The colours are superb, love the purple and grey hues. The comments made are also interesting, considering the low water levels, the surrounding area seems not affected at all and is indeed, incredibly lush.

Really great photo. I would be very interested in seeing this scene again, when the water levels have come up.

Beautiful photo, I love how the light comes in & highlights that small bush in the background. Love the soft shades too, all in all, a very nice capture, well done !! : )

This photo of yours is back!..hehe. It's on the front page today and I sure love these colours you captured, how unusual Regmar. I am still enjoying this, even for the second time. I wonder how you are doing. I miss you being around...Hope all is well. THis is such a lovely photo. It must have been a lovely hike and the quiet would have been wonderful. The patches of sunlight are perfect to give the feel of the depth of the forest. Verena
