I have spent a weekend in the Ardennes at the beginning of spring. Because of the old stone buildings I found that this town was suited to experiment a bit with black and white. I have modified a picture I posted recently, according to the comments I have received. The original picture has been shot with a 10mm wideangle lens (16mm eqv.) and had a strong perspective distortion. I understand that some can find that unpleasant. I applied a rough geometric correction in PSPX. Let me know if you find this better. Many thanks to those who have commented and in particular to Rich for the useful suggestions.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

Thanx for the tip of the hat, there are far, far better people to learn from than me, lol. I do like this one much better, great job on the correction! I still love the composition!

Looks almost as though you used a view camera. Wonderful perspective correction. Top-knotch rework.

...I think the depth of this image is really brought out by its (almost) clinically antiseptic, stark, black and white portrayal. Thanks for sharing...
