Generally these flowers have a lot more stems and petals, making them very full, however this little guy was only half bloomed. Thought it created a cool bursting effect. Thoughts?

You did good by taking the shot when this flower was only partly bloomed - it is much more interesting that way. The flowers already opened are eye-catching, and then you look into the middle and see all that color just waiting to burst forth - good shot!

I agree...there's a million and a half pictures of fully bloomed flowers...which is nice, but your shot has a completely different feel to it. Great job!

I have passed by this delightful composition several times...I am drawn to it...the green...the beautiful, colored petals. It looks like a violet to me, but I don't think it is. This is a "feel good" picture...it makes you feel vibrant and alive. I wish that black "spot" on the one flower could be taken out. Thanks for sharing this with us. Bill.
