For in and out, above, about, below,
'Tis nothing but a Magic Shadow-show,
Play'd in a Box whose Candle is the Sun,
Round which we Phantom Figures come and go.

I appreciate you leaving the camera and lens and setting info. I wish that more of us did that..I hate spiders, but this take is absolutely perfect and I gave it a 10 in the voting booth :)
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
Yeah, I'm a major scardy-cat when it comes to spiders, but do appreciate their unique beauty. Glad you found out what it was. I have a photo of a Black Widow in my gallery and wondered about this one. Your shot is fantastic in detail and coloring - very well done!

Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know
Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show
Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away
Tell me what made you that way
Thanks everyone for the comments, I appreciate them all.
Now that I'm more actively looking for spiders, I'm finding these Black Widows all over. Males and females of all sizes. It must be the hot weather that's provided more prey and let them increase their numbers. The large, jet black adult females still make me nervous and I give them their space.
