Mentzelia oligosperma, also called Stickleaf or Chickenthief, is a fairly common woody shrub with beautiful 3 inch wide flowers. My first post taken with a new Canon 6D body combined with their 180mm macro lens. No strobe was used for the shot, just natural light.

Find the words Marzena, find the words.

Seriously, thank you everyone, for the very nice comments.

I've been dragging my feet on buying the full frame 6D, but I think it'll be a good upgrade over the 60D. Which I'll keep as a back-up. Now, what to do with the T3i I got as a back-up for the 60D.

I could admire the wonderful camera but most of the praise goes to your photographic talents. They don't come much better than this - well done indeed.

I have 100's of these flowers blooming in my garden right now - now my mission is to capture a shot just half as good as this and I will be happy.:)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Thank you very much Lyn. You're a remarkable photographer yourself.

Do you know the name of these flowers? There's only one plant and it's been misidentified as sage. I think the five petal symmetry and the deep yellow and orange color make this one of my favorite flowers. These two blossoms are rather worn, but I couldn't find another, similar alignment.
