He was in my backyard for a while and he
allowed me to take many shots. I have never seen
before an insect like this, may someone knows
the name and details.
Images were taken this morning.
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
How did you actually spot it? I got this in VB and after a few seconds of trying to make out of what it might possibly be... I had to come and get a better view! Wow it sure is ugly but yet strangely wonderful at the same time...
An unusual looking critter, Sayed. I'd say a moth, but it has characteristics of several animals. So many different kinds of creatures under the sun. A great eye to find such a one as this.
I wonder if this is related to the "stick" insect in the South. They blend in also...as this one does. Kinda scarey in a way to be so 'surprised' by what appears to be a moving leaf. The Stick insect looks like a walking piece of a branch..Isn't it just amazing that there are such great things in nature? Thank you for sharing this with us..Verena
