Now that's not a pretty sight. They don't cut the coconut trees expecially in Kerala and Karnataka as many people use coconut scraps and oil in cooking.

There is no harm in cutting an old tree provided you plant two saplings before the old one is harmed [just my view point - ignore if not applicable].

Cutting a coconut tree is not so bad as cutting the trees in the jungle. Very nice "action" shot!

If the coconut tree should not be cut, then this is of course not a goot thing.But if it's being done "in the name of progress" then of course, it would be very sad. Trees are beautiful, but sometimes they need to be "thinned out". I do like that you took this photo tho. Verena

Aww what a shame, as a natural resource in so many different ways, coconut trees should not be cut down. Sadly though, its all too common to see trees of all kinds being destroyed to make way for buildings.
