Rainwater stagnating on the road and the people moving to the boat service. This image was taken a couple of years back during a visit to this beautiful village known as Chennamangallur(Calicut,Kerala)
It has been suggested that some of my critiques are not critical enough or at all. I've been accused of saying "Nice Shot" without really saying "Nice Shot". So you are the first friend comment that popped up since then; so you are my guinea pig in this experiment at "tough love". I am supposed to make constructive and positive statements about your shot; so here goes:
If I look at your posting as just a snapshot of life in your village, it's very good. If, however, I'm supposed to offer constructive criticism of the artistic value of a potential desk top photo, I do have commentary. For what it's worth, here goes (and before I forget, send me a personal message and let me know what you think of my critique if you have the time and inclination).
Very good colors although the white shirt in the left foreground is a bit overpowering and throws off the balance of the composition. I wish that the dark foliage on the left could have been removed, but I'm not sure how you would crop it out without losing the guy on the left. As you know I'm not a fan of white skies, but considering the rain, I think the sky was one huge white cloud. I've noticed this before and have mentioned that the power lines somehow don't seem to belong in your photos of life in the village. On a 1 to 10 scale, I'd give this a solid 6.
Sayed,
again you have delighted my eyes with the local image.
I do love the general view and some details which tell a lot [specifically to a person who is fully devoted to Hercules Poirot by Agatha Christie] !!!!!
Many thanks !
