A photo by my nephew, Mark Pietras, on a trip to Paris. Submitted with his permission. This is the view looking straight down from the Eiffel Tower. Not recommended for those with a fear of heights, which includes me.....
Greetings! Tell Mark...GREAT PHOTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got vertigo just looking at it! I hate heights myself, and have even done stuff to overcome it...but this photo gave me the same feeling I had one time when I bungee jumped.
Ah, memories! The elevator had just closed behind me and was starting its ascent to the top of the Eiffel Tower when I remembered my own fear of heights and asked myself, "WHAT am I DOING?!" There's no way I would EVER, ever bungee jump! Nooo.
Oh my goodness....this makes me nervous...lol!! Awesome capture, though...and makes a great desktop because I can hold on to the edge of my desk while viewing it! :) 10/10 for this one!!
There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again. (groan)
The busses look like matchbox cars and even the people on the halfway platform are tiny. I've seen shots leaning over before but the clear day, great colors and views of the parks below make this the most interresting.
I have been here. I also have some good shots. But...I didn't go up because of my fear of hights. My mother and father did (1971) and I know they didn't get a shot like this. I don't think anyone will again. Great one.
I look for and like the unusual but must confess this is too frightening for me to attempt to photograph. It is enough just to view and an amazing view it is. Great work by your nephew.
