From a slide I shot at least 35 years ago. Scanned and cleaned up. Oaks don't get the fiery colors of other hardwoods, tending toward dark red, purples, and browns. Perhaps these more-somber colors are reminders of what is to come next -- brrrr!

I love the deep reds in the leaves. Kind of makes me wish they were on my lawn so I could shuffle my feet through them like I did when I was a child :-)

From quiet homes and first beginning, Out to the undiscovered ends, There's nothing worth the wear of winning, But laughter and the love of friends.

The light from the sun brings out the true intensity of the color. Great shot. Sharp detail and clear. I'd give this high marks.
