Yes it always works, but i have to say that i am a little bit disappointed in the battery capacity when it is cold. I was able to take 3 pictures when it was -36 i could. On the other hand what else could i expect.
In normal conditions it´s no problem. My experience is this:
Depending on how you transport the camera (outside or inside the jacket)
By -36 ° about 3-10 pictures
By -26 ° about 8-15 pictures
By -16 ° about 15-30 pictures
By -6 ° about 25-50 pictures
By +6 ° No problem to fill up the camera with nice pictures on one
charge. All the result can also depend on what kind of battery you have.
As one who lives in sunny Australia where the lowest it gets to is 8 degrees in the middle of a winter night, I suddenly feel cold looking at this picture. You have no idea how much that says. ;) Awesome job, dude.
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more

Wow, that's a gorgeous shot.. one problem... your webpage link doesn't match your profile link, you missed a w in new. Outstanding picture though, I love your work, thank you for sharing it.
Amazing capture! The lighting and soft shapes work great together, looks early morning too - takes some willpower to get up early in the cold! Also the way the color fades from dark and sharp at the bottom to light and soft at the top... all in all it's a swell shot. Top marks from me.

I'm way late in discovering this beauty but I love it! Get compostion and one can almost feel the cold. I can relate to the below 0 temps ... I lived in Alaska (Fairbanks) for 4 years ... one year -70. Burrrrrrr. Average 50 below. Cameras just don't work in temps like that.
Anyway, I love this shot and it has gone into my faves for use when it's 100 degrees outside with 99% humidity ... Alaska to Houston, Texas ... talk about culture shock!
This is the first time I've seen this photo and it is just plain old magnificent!! Gorgeous rocks covered with snow. Wow, it looks so cold. I was in 40 below zero once..Brrrrrrrrrrrr
I'm so glad you took this shot tho, its fantastic. Verena
