I believe this is a Curlew but ornithology is not something I've spent any time pursuing. Whatever it is, there was no fear as I walked up to capture this image.
Good sharp image. The framing is abit too tight, cutting the legs off. Doesn't look like a Curlew to me, with my European views of birds. Curlews normally have a distinctive downturned bill and a rather speckled brown/white colouration across the body. This bird of yours has distinct lines on the wings and the bill curvature is hard to work out, but doesn’t look like the Curlew. I would suggest a Black-tailed Godwit. Thanks for sharing!!!
Well done on getting such a clear shot of this gorgeous bird. Whether it is a curlew or not (and it doesnt mattr because its the photography im here to see!)I love the way the beak ends do not meet, i guess it helps with catching worms! Nice work.
