"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
This is a very well balanced picture, in my opinion. I like the sky-water repetition, and the orange roofs of the background building contrasting with their greyness. And those neat flags carrying my eye with them as they march across the stand of trees are like bright stitches holding East and West together. The statue on the hill in the upper right is a nice surprise. I wish the boat were bigger, or you were closer, so more interest is retained in the center of the picture. This makes for a restful, yet interesting desktop.
