I really like the idea of your photo here.

If I may be bold ... and using your accompanying narrative as a reference ... perhaps, play around with the DOF some more?

As in, and as presented to us ... the focal point (for me anyways) is on the scroll. Or, close to.

Not sure if that translates well enough with the image concept?

*Tones are quite good. And the B & W presentation is fitting.

Would love to see more experimentation from you, with the same idea in mind.

That nonsense of mine aside ... your image here has that lil' 'something something' extra.

Can't quite put my finger on it, although I do believe ... and somewhat contradictory to the above comments ... that the composition is inviting and suggests some intrigue. And most certainly, invokes interest on the part of this viewer. :o)

Thank you! I think that's the most constructive comment I've ever received on here... I was a little worried about how out of focus the end of the violin was. I really appreciate your suggestions, too...

I like the concept and the black and white tones--well done. I agree about the DOF...I'd like to be able to actually identify the instrument for what it is, even though it would be hazy--but just enough to identify it. Also, more of the face, too, even if foggy, to tell a story. Your focus is really honed in on exclusively the tuning knobs, and I think some more experimentation would make a good piece into a great one.
