I've never had any personal experience with love so I can't really say much else...

Yikes! I feel the knife even now twisting, twisting slowly in my solar plexus - sending the cold shiver down my spine to the place where it freezes the ache in my heart. That's the empty place where love lived, laughed, throve, and died leaving only rot and death. That knife carved the idealism out of me and left a hole where something was, but is no more. A hole that was filled, because love abhors a vaccuum with the person I am now. With the person I love now. With the yin to my yang, the Gracie Allen to my George Burns, the person I was supposed to love, the one whom I never thought would arrive but who did. Close your eyes. Feel the hurt. Let it live. Let it hurt. Let that part go, and don't spend eleven years dwelling on it as I did. What you seek may not be what you'll get, but that might not be what you were supposed to get after all. Tomorrow will come, because you can still feel, and you can still give.

Your eyes could stop rage in its tracks and change it into a calm lust. Later on your old squeeze will often think back of his time with you and realize what he lost; definitely his loss. Loyalty is hard to find, and behind beautiful blues like yours even harder.

You and I seem similar... As for the guy-sometimes people find each other at the wrong time. He has some learning to do, (and he may never learn, too). It's good express yourself and then let it go. YOU are not to blame, and from my perspective you are an interesting person... he just has to go his own way-and you will/have find/found better. I like your work.
