Just playing with a word we once called diffusion, and an historic corral in Tombstone, Arizona. Sorry, no gunfight.

I have some fond memories in Tombstone :) Awww, no gunfight? This is a pretty neat looking scene tho, the blurred edges almost create that mini illusion I've seen done with houses in the scene. I like the "diffusion" but I think a little less might have been more effective. Love the color you achieved here on this wonderful terrain :)))

Now this is different, and I think a little less would have enhanced the image a bit more. Tigs♥ =^..^=

I like the lighting on this scene a lot, but I am not sure about the diffusion. I know it's to draw interest to the central image, but there seems too be so much that is beautiful to see here that I feel like I am missing it. This sure is a beauty of a place and it's a really fine shot.

I would say add some foreground to push your focused area back a little and it would probably look "balanced". Nice post work on the photo, Doug. A great looking scene and a lovely view.

Although this effect isnot my taste, do I enjoy what a master you are with your postwork. I have seen a similar postwork before from somebody but I don't see the added value to a photo. And I think your more natural version is a very good landscapephoto. Mich

Hi, Doug...

Just sent you a return email explaining that I'm way behind, but I wanted to stop in a toss is my few bits of commentary. I've seen diffusion, and I love to play around with my shots too. Just as you didn't care for this shot, I'm not convinced that the soft focus adds anything to the shot other than the fact that you enjoyed it. I can see diffusion adding depth and focus to a flower shot or a simple single image, but this image has too many neat things going for it to focus on just the dead center of the shot.

I visited that corral many years ago ... nice use of bokeh to frame the subject. Creative work, Doug.

Doug - I'm not sure of the process you used, but it has a bit of a tilt lens appearance - it is very cool. The scene works very well for this diffusion / bokeh. Thad

Hello Doug, I love the richness of the colors and the general ambience. The diffusion effect is interesting but my first impression was that the technique would benefit from a stronger center of interest. The charm of this photo seems to me to be generated by the impact of the entire scene.
