Just a small cemetery off a back country road. Most of the residents farmed and developed this area two centuries ago. Such a peaceful resting place.

It sure is peaceful, Doug. A fine Autumn view of this farmland and surrounds. I always wonder about those folks who lie beneath the stones when I visit a cemetery and so it is here as well.

Well a very peace place but don't want to think about resting just yet.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Doug - Numerous small country graveyards dot the landscape where I live. It is fascinating to see the stones and wonder what life was like in the time when these were remote rural spots, too far from towns that are now a short drive in the car away. A beautiful capture. Thad

A beautiful resting place for sure, but I'm not *that* tired. The autumn leaves add much to its mood. The photo has an agreeable left to right sweep in its composition that engages the eye. Nicely done.

A lovely scene you've captured, Doug. Good lighting and composition of the photo. It's nice to see the cemetery is still well looked after.

From the definitive shadows, Doug, I think you might have gone a half click too heavy on the negative gamma. Other than that, I can't find a single thing to bitch about. If I could afford to be buried, this is where I'd like to be. Ocean view would be nice too. But I can barely afford cremation. I think when my time comes, I'll head north of Morro Bay to where the elephant seals are hanging out and the great white sharks wait for the pups to venture out. I'll leave a note on my kayak and do some snorkeling.

I have been interested in old grave sites and the history behind them for many years, the stories they could tell. I really enjoyed this photo Doug.
