Some tend to think of Deserts in terms of the Sahara or the Gobi, and unlimited vistas of wind created sand dunes. I can't recall the elevation of this area, but there are four mountain ranges that meet in this particular area of Southwest Texas. And none of the higher peaks are in this particular area.
