John Diefenbaker, Canada's Prime Minister in the late 1950's and early 1960's is the man who killed the contract for the Avro Arrow and ordered all of the aircraft already finished to be scrapped along with every piece of information used in the construction and creation of the ARROW. It was the fastest fighter aircraft in the world with the capabilities of reaching the edge of outer Space. Over 1500 individuals were instantly without a job though the factories floors were covered with individuals mainly from the Unite States, providing excellent offers from the aircraft industries. It's quite a story, also a movie. I haven't added a picture of the aircraft as it may be illegal, but there's many images available by searching AVRO ARROW I shot the Deifenbaker image on the tarmac of Windsor airport (Southern Ontario) Canada.

I researched this a bit Doug and it was a fascinating multi player and multi layered story. One I was unfamiliar with as I was only 6-7 years old when all this happened. very interesting image and story.
