both parent birds, this one with a fish "hors d' oeuvre", perched on top of utility poles, and called to their one remaining offspring to coax it into leaving the nest. the fledgling was refusing to try its wings and was calling back to them for food. as this photo was taken a few days ago, I imagine they have all flown free by now.

Nicely done and a remark on nature itself. :)

Wonderful capture of nature at work. A great idea...bribe your kids to get them to do what you want...sounds so human :)

Nice shot! That's the female ( MOM ) - she has the spattering of brown on her neck, known as a "necklace."
You really succeeded in showing the way she was almost holding the fish out to tempt the youngster!

Another fine shot of a Osprey Mary
Your picture shows us how powerful these birds are. What surprises me about these big "birds of prey" is they only seem 2 eat fish !! has this thought occurred to anyone else !!

Life's around said Phil the 35 millimetre cameraman. I recently went to the doctors, and said I've got icon fever, but he told me there was no cure for the disease.
