Must have been quite an updraft as this was growing rapidly. The spots (I count 5) are hawks circling between the camera position and the storm. Didn't see them until downloaded.

An interesting shot Charlie. You've captured the cloud well. The halo is a phenomenon I've not seen before. The image is sharp and the color is good. The only thing I might have done to make this image better is to clone out the foliage. The focal point of this image is the cloud itself and the foliage is somewhat of a distraction. There really is no need for point of reference in the greens, therefore eliminating them would enhance the composition. Hope these comments are helpful. Blessings, anne :-)

Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

This is a very nice shot. Are these lenticular halos common where you are ? I haven't
seen them before.

Cool shot, Charlie - are you sure this wasn't a nuclear test? Very interesting shot -
