I don't have the details on this bird. It appeared for a moment then moved on. Aviary at Lowry Park Zoo, Tampa Bay.

I really like this bird. You captured him real nicely too. He's got some attitude! Only thing that doesn't work is the background, at least for me. I'm guessing you are trying to disguise the cages... which I can't blame you for, but the gray against the gray of the birds head takes away a bit. Still, I believe you didn't have much of a choice, and did your best. It's a nice shot! Ashley

This is the highly endangered Blue-Masked Cardinal from Zanzibar.

Nope, just kidding. I have no idea who s/he is, but what an unusual, fascinating, and pretty bird! I like the way you've obscured the caging in the background, too.

Very unusual looking and you've captured it with perfect clarity and great composition. Told them so in the VB :) Well done.

Great shot Charlie of a most unusaul bird. Like "thornsthread" above I had some reservation about the background in the thumbnail, but viewing the image full screen it really didn't bother me ... in fact I found it rather attractive, perhaps because it is so unusual. Bottom line ... it's a bird shot I'd be right proud of.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

What an unusual bird - and beautifully captured. The blue is so beautiful. I like your unusual background treatment - it seems to suit this picture perfectly, giving it a very warm and close up feel. Nice work :)
