Young woodpecker was trying out his beak on our redbud tree looking for a snack. Daddy was within earshot demonstrating how it is done.

Taken at a great angle Charlie with terrific clarity. He is looking very leery at his daddy to make sure he does it right as well. Very nice. Thanks.

You my Caedes friends post the most wonderful images out here. Full of beauty, life and gorgeous colors. For that, you have my heartfelt 'thanks'. I love 'browsing them' and wish there was more time to personally comment on every one of them.

Well captured, Charlie. I can even see the lichen on the tree bark.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

This is precious. He really looks like he's concentrating hard on getting it right!! Great clarity and the lighting is perfect, as is the angle..doesn't get much better!!

Nice shot, our woodpeckers like this seem to disappear as soon as the weather gets nice, we have them all winter.
