I really like the level of clarity in the details and the colors, lighting and placement of the subject in the composition all works out pretty darn well. ^_^ It's some kind of fly I think. Looks can be deceiving... Mimicry, I think it's called. It's evolved to look like a bee to avoid being disturbed by those that don't wish to be stung by a bee... There are those that look like bumblebees and wasps too.

I think Klas is right, it is a fly! Quite remarkable how similar it looks to a bee; the eyes give it away though. It certainly doesn't detract from the shot though, IMO it makes this photo more interesting and unique than if it had been a common old bee.
