How do you know it was a costume, lol! I think this is a pretty cool portrait of this guy, he looks like a Viking to me. Lot's of character. I certainly wouldn't want to get on his bad side!

William Wallace had such an intent look on his face too I bet. ;-) A fine shot, but it seems like it could be so much more. All it seems to need is a little judicious editing.

If you could possibly remove that dark splotch on the right, & maybe blur the rest of the background to focus even more of our attention on your "Highlander"... I think that might make this more of a character study than anything else.

Actually, I think it could end up as a powerful character study, but that's just my opinion.

You picked a great subject & I love the shot, I'd just love to see a slight re-working of this myself.

Wow, what an amazing looking man! So much character. I love this photo a lot, it "speaks." I also wish that little black thingie on the right could be removed,it would make the whole photo so much better yet. But even with it there, its a great shot..Verena

Thank you for your comments - yep, should have cloned out the hat-brim at the side. Will try to do better. Definitely a costume - should have seen his boots, kilt, belt, dirk, shield and sword - not normally worn in small town NZ!
