Finally, signs of Winter creeping out and Spring trying to elbow it's way into Wisconsin! This is the St. Croix River that is close to my home. This river leads to the St. Croix Falls Dam which then leads to Stillwater, Minnesota. Way back when I was in High School, the boys in my class would go down to the river and go "ice berging", meaning they would have a contest to see who could make it across the river from Wisconsin to Minnesota by jumping from berg to berg without falling in (when the bergs are bigger, of course). I would assume that the biggest winner would be able to make his way across and back again without getting wet (or drowning)! I guess that's the kind of stuff we did for fun in a tiny town back in the 80's... before everyone had a car, cell phones or computers! Man, those were the days!!

An awesome capture my Friend. I can feel the movement and hear the sound of the ice as it flows....very cool and very well done.

That is a rather dangerous game to jump between the ice blocks. Nice capture of the icy river Tina. Here the ice and snow are all gone now.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

we call these copy pans where I grew up, but that was the atlantic, I fell in a few times and came home soaked, very dangerous but we thought it was a blast, that was back in the 60's for me!!!

A nice perspective in the photo and lovely colours in the scene. It's amazing any of us ever survived our teen years given some of the stupid things we did.
