I tried a different combination today, this was taken with the canon t3i, canon 70-300mm IS USM lens, with the kenko 1x4DGX converter, hand held.

Thanks so much for your comments.

Is this a Hollyhock bloom Sandi? Sure reminds me of some we used to have out at the farm. Should plant some here too. Love this shot, so clear and beautiful.

Splendid. Perfectly detailed white petals and a great dof make this look like a model for someone's still life painting. Those puffy petals remind me of petticoats.

Congratulations on two counts, Sandi. First of all the full sized image is actually full sized. Secondly this is the best flower shot I've seen all day. The flower is perfectly focused, and the colors are stunning. When I first came to Caedes, I had an aversion to white flowers. Now I have a great appreciation for the few photographers on Caedes that are able to capture a white flower flawlessly. Stunning sharpness. The translucence of the petal allows the light to shine through from behind highlighting the vessels. Truly a beautiful image.

Great DOF in this macro shot. Lighting on white petals is perfect. Really good work, Sandi. Does your 70-300 lens have macro mode?
