Interesting shot you have here. I like the close-up, and where the shot's in focus, it's sharp as a tack and quite the study in texture.

Therein lies the rub... I can live with the fading out focus of the far left edge, but the turned up lower right corner is killing the shot.

Perhaps if you'd used a slightly tighter aperture, or just cropped the shot to eliminate that corner altogther, so much the better.

Don't get me wrong. I like the experimental nature of the shot, but there's a bit of room for improvement. Still, glad to see a shot that's outside the box a bit.

An interesting closeup on the leaf. Good details and clarity. I would have to agree about the lower right corner presenting a distraction. Good work and thanks for sharing.

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick. Henri Cartier-Bresson

Nice idea, but could have used a little cropping. It's a clear shot though.

Sean, one of the reasons I am an amateur photographer is that I can look at your picture and appreciate what I am looking at while never noticing the lower right hand corner. It would have taken something more dramatic than that to have distracted me.

I like your picture for the shear wonder of it, the moment in time which you took it, and the conditions of environment when the shot was taken, and how you composed your picture.

The detail in the leaf is the subject and you did a real nice job of capturing it! ~~ John

I too like the shot, but the first thing I noticed was the out of focus lower right corner. I agree it distracts from a fascinating study of the veins of the leaf. I think it is a good capture, showing a good eye for patterns and good subject matter.
