Steve - Bleak indeed - especially so in B/W. Clone out the antenna on the hilltop and the fence would be the only indicator that this wasn't a wilderness area. Thad

Your desaturation of color results in enhancing the contrasting textures and light/dark areas. The valley nicely leads the eye from the corner to the center of the image. The antenna is a minor distraction that can be easily removed.
