A nice capture of your new friend. Good clarity and detail in the shot. Could be better if his ears weren't clipped from the top of the photo. Good job.

In order to discover who you are, first learn who everybody else is; you're what's left.
He's right. The cut-off ears does reduce the impact, but a bit more Exposure and Contrast control can make it much more dramatic. The eyes alone can draw full attention to a point that the ears are barely noticed, and produces a very intimidating stare.
