I received my new camera the day I came down with the Flu so I haven't been able to get any shooting done. This is one of the pansies growing on my terrace and it's my first shot. The camera is a Panasonic Lumix with a Leica lens. At this point only used auto settings as there is a steep learning curve for the camera settings. All comments, criticisms and pointers are greatly appreciated.

Well this one turned out pretty darn good for a first shot with a new camera Kathy! Beautiful focus and color!!!! I'm just getting over the flu myself and its taking too long! Hope you're doing better!

I just reviewed your gallery. You obviously have a knack for photography and especially photos of flowers. This is a spectacular shot. The colors that you captured are astounding. I am amazed at the clarity and the detail of this picture. I am wondering, however, why you cut off a couple of the petals. The slightly unfocused background makes this a nearly perfect photo.
