This plant was called that by the garden center because of it's appearance as tiny rosebuds. It's acually a double kolanchoe and had a very old-fashioned look to it. It shaded from from mauve to peach and had a coral color deep in the center. I tried to accent the old fashioned look with some editing work. All comments and critiques appreciated.

Very nice shot, Kathy.

With good good focus and clarity. Composition and placement of.. good good, as well.

If I may.. on the note of the border/framing ...

I find that when 'you' (speaking generally here) employ the Colour Eyedropper to select a colour from an image to use as a border/frame ... it falls short.

Due to the fact that only 'Web Colours' are being approximated/drawn out.

Quite a different story when one is printing an image.. lil' more exacting then.

So..

For me, and my personal preference.. lose the light peach/pink and stay with that of the simple black. Only. And in turn, the screen is filled that bit more ... with that of, and simply ... the lovely flowers themselves.

Just some creative food for thought, nothing more.. nothing less.

Hi, Kathy....

I had a double kolanchoe a few years ago, but it was surgically repaired using titanium screws, some cardboard and a piece of bubblegum.

I've always liked your borders even though I'm basically a borderless kind of a guy. Wonderfully focused shot. Excellent colors. Sure wish I could shoot flowers half as good as you.

I think that the flowers stand on their own beauty, Kathy. I like borders, but in this instance, you really don't need one. The selective focus and colors just invite one to stare at these lovely multi-colored beauties. The only suggestion I can think of is to add a little more contrast and if you crop to near the edge of the peach border from within the frame, you will still have a bit of that vignette and old fashioned look.

They really do look like roses.

The bunch of blooms is simply beautiful. I too think they would be lovely without an framing.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
