We are running 5 weeks ahead of schedule in the weather around the Chicago area. Our shrubs and flowering trees are starting to pop open - the earliest I can ever remember. This forsythia is blooming now next to the condo where I live. All comments and critiques appreciated.

Stunning macro with such fine detail. One of my favorite shrubs. Wish they lasted longer.

A lovely closeup with amazing colours and a nice DoF. Nice details and lighting in the scene.

Very beautifully done, Kathy. We are having the same thing happen around here. Everything is early...including the lawn mowing! Bummer!

First of all I want to go on record as officially liking this border as much as yesterday's border - perhaps even more. Now that we have that important revelation out of the way, I don't like the white vignetting especially where it overlaps onto the flowers. The flowers as always are beautifully shot in every way. I could talk about color, focus and all that stuff, but just know that it's all good. Most importantly I want to touch on that portion of your narrative which ends with..."the earliest I can ever remember." I know that you were in Chicago when Mrs. Leary's cow kicked over the lantern that started the great Chicago fire. Are you implying that in your countless years, you think that the climate is warming? :-)

I really like the way you have captured the massed forsythia as background.
Gorgeous clear yellow - the exact natural colour of this blossom.
Love it!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Kathy - Forsythia looks nice any time of day. I like the dof background of more of the forsythia, allowing this one to shine in the sunlight with sharp clarity. Thad

Such a fantastic close up of these beautiful blossoms, really like the way the frame is setting this off really well. We were even 27C/30F yesterday and all of our snow is gone for now.
