Despite much research I have been unable to identify this wildflower. It appears it may be a type of thistle but I could not match to a specific type I could find in my sources. PS: My thanks to Bob and Lyn for putting me on the right track - it's a type of wild allium(onion).

Very delicate and pretty little flowers and well taken Kathy.

They look like Wild Onion flowers (Purple Allium)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

It almost looks like a wild allium which would be my first guess. Love the detail on these delicate blooms. Nicely captured, Kathy.

My first thought was garlic but I don't know the names of half the wildflowers in my yard. This is sweet by any name.
