We drove an hour to Toledo, Ohio today to visit Fossil Park. This is an example of the density of specimens, all from the Devonian era. Toledo has the second largest deposit of fossils from this era in the world.

This image is best viewed at full size to get the 'full' impact of your narrative, and of your photo itself.

Now this ... this here, you are onto a very, very good idea for a desktop wallpaper.

As much as this one gets better in the higher resolutions, there is, and I am not sure if this is just me, a small problem with the DOF. I really like the detail and clarity, as I can see the fossils present rather well ... however, I feel that something is amiss. Not quite right. Sorry, for being cryptic.

Ahh, 'tis the season isn't it? Ask Santa for a tripod ;) . Problem solved. Cause this really is a very good image and it just suggested to me the possibilities and that ... is a good thing. Hope you get a chance for a revisit, and I look forward to it, should the opportunity present itself.

This is really fascinating to see..I find smaller versions of these same fossils in stones and rocks on Petoskey shores, but nothing like this density of specimens...Good shot...Fran
