I took this back when I lived at lake linganore. These guys seemed to be easily spooked early in the spring and not quite so leary as the summer progressed.

This is an excellent capture! Good subject, color, variety of textures, and sharp focus. Well done.

I am in awe of these birds each time I see one. They are an amazing subject for photography. You have taken a great photo here.

It's better to have a living dog, than a dead lion.

This particular shot is head and shoulders above the rest of the pics of this particular subject due to the fact that he goofed and didn't hide himself very well and stood right in front of all that wonderful green that creates a lovely contrast. Great composition :)PJ

Auline, thanks for the comment on "My fellow fisherman". I went through your gallery and am completely shocked hallmark or a holiday card company hasn't scooped up on you, or have they?

Almost missed this one Rob ... what a neat shot of this Heron ... just beautiful the way you captured it with a fantastic scenic backdrop. Couldn't ask for a much better pose and the log it's standing on ... well ... talk about perfection. The only thing I find disappointing is that c-index above ... much to low in my eyes.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

What I love most in this excellent photo is the way the curve of the heron's neck is (more or less) echoed in the curve of the log.
